LED Poster Displays: The Complete Buying Guide (2026)

An LED posteris a freestanding, door-sized LED screen you roll into place, plug into a standard outlet, and control from your phone. No mounting, no media server, no integrator on a ladder. For storefronts, trade show booths, lobbies, and venues, it's the fastest way to put real LED — not a TV on a stand — in front of customers.

All-in-one vs. fold-up: the two families

Most LED posters fall into two designs, and we carry both:

  • All-in-one posters (our SP Series) build everything into the unit — media player, speakers, an acrylic-protected face, and a wheeled base. Power it up and you're publishing content in minutes. This is the right pick when you want plug-and-play and the option to lock several units together into one larger wall.
  • Fold-up posters (our FD Series) are the premium, ultra-fine-pitch take: a GOB-armored screen that folds to half height for transport and auto-connects side by side into a bigger canvas. The go-to for exhibitors and anyone moving displays between locations constantly.

The specs that actually matter

Pixel pitch

Posters live at eye level and people walk right up to them, so they run fine pitch — typically P1.86 to P2.5. At P2.5, the image holds up from a few feet away; at P1.86 it stays sharp even closer. (New to pitch? Start with our pixel pitch guide.)

Brightness

Indoors, 600+ nitsis comfortably brighter than a consumer TV and reads clearly under retail lighting. Chasing outdoor-facing window placement? That's a different conversation — ask us about it, because glass and sunlight change the math.

Face protection

A poster gets touched, bumped, and wheeled through doorways. Look for an acrylic-protected face or GOB coating — bare LED modules at hand height are asking for dead pixels.

Control: the part cheap posters get wrong

A good poster needs no external hardware. Our SP Series ships with a NovaStar T40 media player built in— you send content from a free phone app over Wi-Fi, plug in a USB stick, or schedule an entire fleet of posters remotely from the cloud. Buying elsewhere? Ask exactly what the control system is and what it costs to add, because "bring your own player" posters get expensive fast.

One poster today, a wall next quarter

The quiet superpower of a quality LED poster: units lock together. Two, three, or four posters fast-lock side by side and run one image across the whole canvas — a genuine video wall, bought one poster at a time. We wrote up exactly how that works.

What it costs

A single all-in-one poster runs a small fraction of a custom-built wall at the same pitch, which is why they've become the default first LED purchase for retail and hospitality. Pricing moves with panel generation and stock, so ask us for current numbers — and note our posters are periodically stocked in our US warehouse; when a run is in, it delivers in days.
